Last week we shared that Nelsons CNC was heading to the 2026 Australian Fencing Conference in Melbourne, with Charlie nominated as a finalist in the Innovators category. We’re proud to now share that Charlie Nelson was announced as the winner on the night, a huge moment for our business, our team, and the product we have worked hard to develop for the fencing industry and our aluminium end caps.

Charlie’s Innovator Award recognises the impact this product is now having across fencing, balustrading, handrails and architectural aluminium projects throughout Australia. What began as solving a practical fabrication problem has grown into a range of more than 600 end cap sizes, with custom machining available for exact extrusion requirements.
The Australian Fencing Conference brings together manufacturers, contractors, suppliers and industry leaders from across the country, making it one of the most important events on the fencing calendar. Held at the Australian Events Centre in Melbourne, the conference and gala awards recognise innovation, product development and industry excellence across Australia.

For Nelsons CNC, this recognition means a great deal because the award reflects years of refining a simple but highly practical product, precision CNC-machined aluminium end caps designed to save fabricators time while delivering a cleaner, more professional finish.

Our interference-fit aluminium end caps were developed as a genuine alternative to cutting, welding, grinding and finishing aluminium ends by hand. Manufactured in-house from premium 6060 T5 aluminium, each end cap is designed to tap tightly into aluminium extrusions with a true interference fit, creating a flush finish without welding, screws or adhesives.

It was also a proud moment to share the event with our team, customers, suppliers and industry colleagues, while demonstrating our products live and catching up with many people who already use Nelsons CNC end caps in their day-to-day fabrication work.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand, supported Charlie’s nomination, and continues to back Australian manufacturing.
